Machine Demonstration:
Simulated production application with unattended operation. Three different parts are randomly loaded in the pickup tray. The robot will pick a part, a high speed digital camera will measure the part, and the EDM Drill will select the correct part program based on the part size. The Fanuc robot is equipped with a dual gripper to reduce the amount of time when exchanging completed and new parts.
An optional 60 electrodes and 30 guide positions Tool Bank was added to maximize unattended operation. The SY Drill keeps track of each electrode, when an electrode is used the machine automatically loads the next one and continues the programmed operation. The LCD display attached to the AEC will show the status of each electrode holder. Electrode diameters from 0.3 mm to 6.0 mm can be utilized in the AEC. The maximum electrode length is 400 mm
